Kobo on the official firmware

The “Ask in PocketGPT” button and the interface itself are built right into the stock reading app. Highlight a quote — and the question is already open together with the book title and the author’s name, without separate apps and extra steps.

Device requirements

The official firmware of the 4.x series, version 4.6 or newer is required (for example, 4.38 or 4.46).

Firmware 5.x and 6.x are not supported.

KOReader

A free reading app that can be installed on many different e-readers. The PocketGPT plugin adds an “Ask in PocketGPT” button to the highlighted-text menu, an “Open PocketGPT” item to the “Tools” menu, and a full-screen chat with a streaming answer, dialogue history and photos from the search engine.

Works where KOReader is already installed: Kobo, Kindle, PocketBook, Android (including Boox) and other devices. The plugin archive is generated on the website with your settings — you only have to enter a PIN code. Requires KOReader, Wi-Fi and an active PocketGPT page.

  1. Check the featuresopen pocketgpt.net/test in the reader’s browser — it will show whether all features are supported.
  2. Openyour personal PocketGPT page (available after registration) in the reader’s browser.
  3. Make it the start pageset it as the default page, if your reader and its browser support that.
